Morgan's "Lady Liberty" design while the reverse depicts a bald eagle with the words, "United States of America, " and, "One Dollar."Background Story: In 1974, a lifelong collector passed away after living nearly all of his life in the Houston, Texas area. He collected many different coins but the proudest portion of his collection was the Morgan Silver dollars. What was astounding about this collection was both the quality and the variety of the coins that he acquired over the years. In fact, samples even show the occasional Carson City mint mark included in the hoard. You can see the expertise that was used in his choosing the coins because they all are very sharply struck with superb surfaces and free of any circulation whatsoever. Basically, this gentleman would travel the country in search of the very best values in silver dollars. He would cherry pick based on the quality of the coins and get them at the very best price. Silver Towne acquired this collection from the family of the Texas collector in late July of this year. Although Silver Towne could have separated the marquis dates and the high grade examples and sold them at higher premiums, it was Silver Towne's conscious decision to allow collectors the opportunity to receive these coins prior to having them ever been sorted.
